Self Defense Video Simple Weapons Disarms

Finally, simple and effective self-defense techniques on disarming your attacker if your weapon fails or you happen to lose the weapon for some reason - in short, you are left with no other option but to save your life and/or others by disarming the attacker using empty hand techniques. The good news is this - you will no longer be without a weapon once the technique as instructed by Master Peter Brusso is used on your attacker.

Master Brusso addresses the “Physics of Disarms” in an interesting discussion and demonstration by using a machete and a semi-automatic handgun to make his point. His point you ask? FORCE X DISTANCE = TORK. His demonstration masterfully proves this to be true along with the “Universal law of escape” - the Gun (weapon) must come out between the finger and thumb.

An instructional section on “Weapons Philosophy” was very beneficial and   builds upon the “Physics of Disarms” as well building the proper foundational concepts from which each of the techniques are able to be successfully completed. A simple, but often overlooked concept brought out was this:

A. Attacker with a gun = your CLOSING THE DISTANCE.
B. Attacker with a knife = your OPENING THE DISTANCE.

As far as I’m concerned, the “Four Weapons Laws” covered by Master Brusso, if committed to memory, provides the very keys to saving your life!

1. Clear the angle of attack.
2. Control the weapon.
3. Disarm the weapon.
4. Neutralize the attacker.

Fail to do this… and you die! Says Master Brusso. And he is absolutely correct! Guaranteed that you will be taking a trip through a long dark tunnel with great-great grandma waiting for you on the other end! Now, grandma may or may not be holding a glass of ice tea - hint, if grandma looks a bit flushed and those ice cubes are melted you would be wise have some serious concerns!

In every technique that is instructed on disarms in this DVD, and there are twenty one of them, each of the “Four Weapons Laws” are clearly demonstrated.

I have been a martial artist and defensive tactics instructor for three decades now and the techniques demonstrated are extremely effective. I spent some time practicing them and they work and work well! These techniques could easily be packaged into an entire self-defense class to the general public on how to disarm someone with a weapon if ever confronted with this nightmare. So, if you are looking for effective and easy material to teach a class, this DVD will provide everything you need and then some.

What I found very good in the DVD were the techniques that one could use with the self defense weapon “Defender” - if you haven’t seen my review of the Defender I would highly recommend you do so. It is an awesome 21^st century defensive tool developed by Master Brusso. He employs its use in several of the disarm techniques and it WILL be instrumental in disarming your attacker. You will have to see the techniques demonstrated to actually appreciate what can be done with it. To prove its devastating effectiveness on the attacker wearing gloves Master Brusso demonstrates the penetrating power of the Defender through the glove.

An interesting piece of instruction towards the conclusion of the DVD was the “Concept of Attacking with Hands.” Master Brusso demonstrates several techniques of attacking the eyes, neck and ears. These techniques are extremely effective. I once read a marketing piece on the Internet (well written and convincing to say the least!) with a supposed high ranking martial artist making this statement: “I have found the most devastating technique that will render any size attacker completely helpless, confused and in pain. Learn the secrets of the great masters” This “secret” self-defense technique would be released and instructed to the purchaser of the DVD for a mere $59.00. I made some calls and did a little investigation of my own and low and behold, this “secret” technique was a strike to the eyes by a “flicking” of the fingers. This technique is no “secret” by any stretch of the imagination and I mention this because I have no doubt that numerous people were ripped off and thought they have received dark and secret self defense techniques. Don’t get me wrong, it works and works quite well!

Listen, Master Brusso covers this technique in the “Concept of Attacking with Hands” in his “Simple Weapons Disarms” DVD as an extra, along with a few other techniques, not to mention the other twenty one. Master Brusso has produced a DVD with life saving techniques that the average person can learn. Matter of fact, as a martial artist you should be able to use them.

You will find a great closing on this DVD. Done with some humor by Master Brusso, but it drives the point home quite well! No, I won’t tell you - you need to purchase the DVD to find out what it is. Also has some funny “Bloopers” he through in at the conclusion.
